We cannot express enough how thrilled we are with the response to our work packets – not only the faithful retrieval, but especially the work the students are completing and returning. Thank you, everyone, for your continued partnership with us in this process!
The next set of packets will be available for pick up beginning NEXT TUESDAY, APRIL 21st. The office will be open that day from 8-5. Please plan on bringing back any completed packets at that time and picking up the next set that will take us to the end of the month. Also, completed packets may be returned throughout the week – take note of the office hours listed below.

We can not stress enough how appreciative we are with everyone for their assistance in picking up and returning work packets. Moreover, words can’t express just how grateful we are to have your support at 江苏体彩网11选5 as your children work through the packets.
Remember: Do not feel obligated to complete one packet per day. It is okay to spread the work out over a couple days if necessary. Keep in mind that the 2nd set of packets has a completion date goal of Wednesday, April 8th.
Please continue to keep in contact with your child’s teacher in relation to questions about work. Every teacher has said more than once how much they miss seeing the students. We can’t wait for the day we are all back together!

Packet set 3 will consist of 4 individual packets and will be available for pick up beginning on Tuesday, April 7th.
We recognize that this set will cover time over the originally scheduled Easter break. Although big plans are not possible this year, we still want to afford students and their families the opportunity to rest and rejuvenate a bit. Most importantly, we want to allow the time necessary to reflect on the suffering of our Savior Jesus, his death on the cross for our sins, and the glorious triumph of his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Illinois Lutheran Schools Update – State Mandated Closure
Dear ILS School Families,
I pray that this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. As you probably heard this afternoon, Gov. Pritzker extended the Stay at 江苏体彩网11选5 and school closures order until April 30. With this news, we will continue to keep our schools closed to onsite classes. This also means that all co-curriculars and calendar events are cancelled until future notice.
We will continue to conduct school through eLearning at the high school and junior high. The grade school will continue with its distance learning through packets and some online activities. We will continue to do our very best to provide a quality, Christian educational experience for your children through this difficult time.

Let me begin by thanking all of you for your cooperation, words of support, and suggestions for how we can continue to provide a great Christian education for your children – even from a distance. Obviously this is not a situation any of us would have imagined! I also want to publicly thank my staff as well. The teachers have all shown great flexibility in preparing lessons and hopefully you have found them to be accessible through many forms of communication. I also want to thank Elizabeth Oestmann in the office – she has been so faithful in helping out!
Governor Pritzker’s mandate this past Friday, March 20th, means that we will continue the distance learning model we have been using until at least April 8th. The following information shows our plan for the next couple of weeks.
The teachers will be putting together five (5) new packets of distance learning lessons. These packets will be available for pickup at school beginning Thursday, March 26th at 8 AM and until 5 PM. These packets are meant to cover the time period from March 30th – April 7th – that would be 7 instructional days. You may also drop off the first set of packets during these hours. The procedure for school pickup will remain the same: ring the doorbell when you arrive – we will open the door for you and allow you to come in the office and receive your child(s) packet. If desired, you may also receive your packet through the office window and limit contact even further. Note that picking up distance learning materials from school is still allowed under the shelter in place mandate as it is considered an essential function.
As an additional option, we are going to make digital packets more readily available for this next set of packets. Each day will have two files. One file will include the material we would like printed, completed, and returned. The other file would not need to be printed (but could be). This file will have the necessary reading material and instructions. If you would desire digital packets, please contact Principal Falck (email@example.com) and he will send those out beginning Thursday morning.
Finally, the teachers in grades 3-6 are looking into ways they can share lessons and some material through the Internet. We understand that it will be difficult to coordinate live lessons, so this material will be recorded and posted for students to access. Some lessons may be recorded live with the opportunity for students to participate, but it will not be mandatory to be present! We do have a number of Chromebooks available and will check them out to students in grades 3-6 along with their work packets.
Until we hear otherwise, we tentatively plan to resume classes on Wednesday, April 8th. If this situation changes we will continue to keep you updated through all means possible.
I cannot stress again how appreciative I am of all of you during this challenging time – and really all the time. As we continue forward, we do so knowing that God is in control of all things and he will work all things for his good. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers!

As the first week of school closures comes to an end we wanted to reach out to you with an update on our school. As you know the governor has issued a “shelter-in-place” order. That means that school will be closed beyond the original March 31 date. School offices will also be closed. We will make every effort to keep you updated on a possible school reopening as information becomes available. Obviously, we will take every precaution before making a decision to ensure that our students, family and community are safe. Thanks for your patience and understanding in these uncertain times.
At the high school and junior high eLearning is in full swing. Teachers are connecting with students on a daily basis, preparing and delivering high quality, online lessons. Our students have been fantastic; being on time for classes, following proper online etiquette and being responsible for their part in the learning process. As is the case with any technology it can be abused and misused. We are not witnessing that to this point. However, we encourage parents to be vigilant in supervising their children. Now with the “shelter-in-place” order, we will continue to have school through the eLearning system we have established. We will stay on our regular school day schedule. At the elementary campus learning packets have been distributed to all families. We encourage parents to set up learning areas and establish times for study. As we progress through this shelter-in-place order we will continue to provide learning packets and other educational activities. Finally, remember that although we live in uncertain times, God is still in control and his promises are sure. Please remain calm and trust in his mercies.

Over the next few weeks things will be different. That statement rings true in our ears. We see changes to schedules, everyday routines being adjusted, and a feeling of uncertainty ripple through just about everything. It is good, right, and necessary that we look to the one source of stability during this me (and all
times!). Our God who has created all things is with us (Psalm 46:11). Our God makes all things work for good (Romans 8:28). Our God will never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
As a school we want to assist you in providing your children the opportunity to continue to grow in their knowledge. We want this growth to continue not just in general subjects, but also in their spiritual growth. With that in mind, we have prepared an “Extended Learning Plan” (e-Learning) that will be used
during this period of shutdown. An additional document that will be included with the packets will include more specifics as well.
Thank you in advance for your patience and support in this new procedure. Teachers will be including set contact hours that they will be available for questions and assistance. They will also be vigilant in tracking communication apart from the set times and will respond in a reasonable amount of time. Principal Falck will also be available to contact with any questions or concerns.
God willing we plan to return to the regular school schedule on Wednesday, April 1st. We will keep you updated throughout this process.

- Work for each day should be kept together and returned to the school in the same envelope
- All completed work (5 packets) should be returned to school on the first day regular classes resume
- Any completed work packets may be returned to the school office during the posted hours
- Within reason, the work should allow the students to work independently at their grade level, but parents, guardians, siblings, etc. are welcome to assist with any/all activities
- PK packets will also be available for pick up. Although PK packet pick up is not mandatory, we would still like to provide them as a resource.
